Moving to Qatar

nekamel

Hello everyone,

We are an Egyptian family probably relocating to Qatar by end of February 2011. My biggest concern is about schools in Doha. I am looking for AFFORDABLE (i.e. max. of 15000 QR per child) american curriculum schools that can accept my sons (Grade 3 & KG2) at that time of the year!!!!!

Any Nominations?? I would be really grateful.

Regards,,

Nevine,

Your chances of finding a school with American or British curriculum for under 15K QAR per year per child are quite slim based on what I have seen, especially for Grade 3.  I can not think of any schools within that range here to be honest.

18K-25K will be a more feasible range to work with.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,,

There are a few things that I would like to ask about:

1- How much does an empty 3-room flat in Doha?

2- How many months of Winter (if any)?

3- How much time does it take for an expat to issue his/her residence permit and hence the driving license????

4- Can I admit my kids in a school before we receive our residence permits? because we might relocate immediately before the new school year and I don't want them to miss any day.

Regards,,
