We can't deny that we came here for money,  but is there any kind of volunteer work  we could be involved with ,something that could give a better meaning of us being here?

its nice idea,, you can teach arabic and english, you can offer this site members,,
to meet in public place like corniche costa or coffee shop,
make friends, and exchange experiences

Also if you like animals, go to Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) on a weekend, walk them around, donate some as well like dog/cat food, detergent for cleaning, almost anything you think that can help the shelter. The are is after Villaggio
