Accountants Working In The Middle East

samsalemca

Hi Everyone,

Im an Australian charted accountant with around 10 years of experience and currently working in a management level role in public practice. Ive started to investigate the opportunities that may be available in the middle east (particularly Saudi Arabia) and was hoping to connect with other accountants on this platform that could share their experiences and/or advice regarding the opportunities available and how they made the transition into the region. If anyone can help me out or connect me with somone that could potentially help that would be great!

Thank you!

Sam

Dear Sam,

I would suggest connect with the right people on LinkedIn from (Head hunters/Heads of finances/recruiters) as that’s what helped me in securing a role (though it did take about 6 months) - but not sure if it might be different for a Male Vs Female (I moved from London in Aug 22 due to family commitments-Husband’s work). So LinkedIn was my best bit. I myself I am a chartered accountant.

Thanks for your advice - I have been trying to reach out to more people on LinkedIn, particularly accountants that have made the transition overseas to get their insights. It would be great to connect with you on LinkedIn as well if that's ok? Should you be open to connecting, my LinkedIn URL is:  linkedin.com/in/samsalem/
