Iqama Profession change procedure

Dear all,

I m living in saudi arabia and i m working here as engineer but my iqama Profession is workshop worker.

Pls advice how i change my iqama trade and which documents require to do the same ?

Can i bring my family with workshop worker trade ?

Hi Satish,


Here is the process to follow which I also did almost a year ago.


First, you need to get all your degree attested from the home country including Saudi Embassy. Note that the degree should match the Iqama profession change you need.

Second, you need to get the SCE registration since you are working as an Engineer.


Once these are done, ask the employer to start the Iqama profession change process. It can only be done by the employer.

For Family, you can bring them on a visit visa. It does not matter which profile you are in.

To bring the family on a permanent visa, the min. salary is 3500 per month. Since you are not on the eligible profile like Engineer, you should apply it offline via Istiqdam.
