Saudi temperatures could hit 70° Celcius this summer

most car sensors are located at the bottom of the grill which is shaded from direct sunlight but it allows excess heat radiated from the pavement to cause readings to be higher than the official readings.

It still damn hot for you guys. I have only ever experienced 47 Celsius In the pushkar desert and yet to experience the heat of Riyadh

Completely agree with you.. I recollect, some days back when I started the ignition of my car it showed me 51degrees and when I drove it for couple of hundred metres, the reading came down to 46 degrees.... So I believe it gives the erroneous reading during the initial run !

As its the summer now in the Gulf regions, the heat here is extreme. For me, i've never really experienced such heat, but i do try and be careful take others advice who are from this region. :)

I do find when your car is exposed to direct sunlight when parked, during these hot months, the best way to cool it down is to open the doors, windows just for short while after starting it. As the temperature inside the car is hotter than outside, this lowers the temperature inside the car. Then as i drive with the windows down, for a very short while to air the car, i.e. allowing the breeze to bring the temperature down and circulate the air. Then put the windows up and hit the icon button... the cool air then circulates... :D:cool:
