What salary should I ask?

Joao Lemos

I am going through an interview process for a management position for Saudi Arabia. I am a civil engineer with almost 20 years of experience and I would like to know how much I should ask for a salary. What salary per month plus benefits should I ask for?
Moving from where I am today, where I have a very good life quality, would be a great sacrifice for me and for that I think it should be compensated with a very good package.
I´m married with 3 small children.
Is a USD 15k to USD 20k per month plus benefits acceptable or would it be outrageous?

It is a very good package but if you are already getting 10k to 15k in your home country, i would say don't come here.
Stay there.

1) Wherever you are now, the prices and the overall cost of life in KSA is 3-5 times higher. Hence multiply your current salary accordingly - just to keep same life quality
2) This country is very, VERY uncomfortable for life and unfriendly to expats. The ONLY reason to move there is money. So adjust your expected salary accordingly
3) On top of salary - request housing allowance - 150-200K SR per year minimum
4) Request a car - must have there
5) Even if all your requests be satisfied - think twice, do you need it or not. I wouldn't recommend anyway.
