Quality beef is expensive.  Most veggies, sold by the kilo, are cheap.

Local food is cheap, while imported food is expensive.

Kubbus are cheap, sold in packets of 5pcs for SR 1. Available in malls, supermarkets and restaurants. They are usually made from Wheat / Maida. Are considered good for health.

Also restaurants serving South Indian cuisine or Pakistani / North Indian cuisine are low cost, high quantity.

Yea, as Lola said 'fool' or 'foul' could be the cheapest dish around. It is sold for 2,3 riyals and is quite good & filling.

I think it is the crushed form of 'fava bean' or 'broad bean' or something similar. :)
