cost of living

MsKali79

hi,

My husband has been offered a job in Riyadh, and we are just trying to find out some information or ideas about lifestyle in Riyadh, housing expenses, schools, and such.

These are roughly the amount income offered, 8-11,000.00 US dollars monthly which includes incentives. Housing 24000.00 US per year (i think), full medical insurance for family. For Hubby, myself and our newborn. Air flights covered and paid including arrangements to bring our pets and such. We will find out more once offer letter arrives, tho nothing settled from our end yet.

Now, with this income will we be able to afford to live on compounds? I don't speak Arabic but hubby does, And I personally would love to live on compounds for social activities, interactions and things with english speaking people, things to do with moms and baby activities etc. We temporarily moved from US about 7 months ago and currently in Jordan, and life here is very relaxed and open, we enjoy it, tho i know Riyadh is completely strict in terms of clothes for women and social life.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks

R

With 24K USD/Annum you will be able to find a Western compound in that range. You can go through on the various Forums on EB but in the KSA region and read a lot.... Tons of information is shared over there and I guess after reading you might not be having any more queries. :)
