Transferability of iqama depends:

1- Some Iqamas cant be transferred e.g., those of private drivers, farmers, mehram visas etc.
2- In view of the new rules from the passport departments, you have to complete certain number of years before you could consider changing your sponsor. For example, to move to a green company from your current green, you need to complete 2 yrs at minimum.

If your iqama isn't transfer-able, you may consider exiting out of KSA (on a final exit visa) and come back on a new visa provided my your new employer.

As far as I understand you can get transfer before two years rule as well but the current sponsorer has to issue a No objection letter

In case an employer in not happy with the performance of an employee & wants to give him release within a year or few months after taking his transfer & a new company wants to hire him.

considering his previous & the new company, both are in green, how can he transfer? Its a genuine case & There must be a way out.
