I found some information about sandboarding but in Dubai only... Anyway, it seems they have some kind of championships in Jan / Feb: sandboard.com/locations/uae/dubai.htm

There are no companies that offer this sort of sport here, But then I do know people who do try this out on there own. A couple of my friends have fashioned themselves a board, took rudimentary safety stuff have hit the dunes.

The thing is , if you do this, and the saudi shabbab also come to find out about how fun this is , then maybe you might see the equipment int he stores in a few years.
