Converting Business Visa to Dependent Iquama

bennybennassi

Hello,

My wife and I are relocating to Riyadh - She will be an Iquama holder employed with a Saudi Company.

After my company in my home country found out that my wife will be in Riyadh, they have offered me to go to Saudi with my wife to do business development and market entry for them, but as they have no presence in KSA now, I will be on a business visa.

The plan is for us to enter KSA together at the same time and my once wife obtains her iquama, I want to change my business visa to a dependent iquama under her sponsorship. This is important as it will allow us to buy car and for me to drive her around. Can someone shed some light on this please?

Alternatively - Can my wife buy a car and authorize me to drive if I am a business visa holder?

Authorization to drive is through Government online systems and the person who is being authorized needs to have an Iqama.

As mentioned many times on this forum, there is no conversion of a visa to an Iqama, dependent or otherwise.  The normal process does not cater for it.  The only way it could be done is if you know people in the right departments in the Government.

Thanks - I suppose I will have to cancel my business Visa and exit the country and then reenter to obtain my dependent Iquama. Not a problem, just a hassle these days with Covid.
