Hi all. I鈥檓 a Canadian citizen married to a Turkish citizen and we want to move to Turkiye for at least 2 years then we will take it from there.
I鈥檓 aware that I need a resident visa but how and where to get? Do I have to apply here in Canada(we are in Canada now) or apply in Turkiye?

Does this 鈥渂uy a house to get a resident visa鈥� still applies to me if I鈥檓 married with a Turkish citizen? Is there a visa for people who are married to citizens? For example, after we got married my partner applied under 鈥渟pouse visa鈥� to live with me.

It is called the family residence permit. You do not need to buy a home or anything else. Being married to a turkish citizen is enough to apply for it.

you can even obtain the citizenship after 3 years of marriage not just visa, hope it answers the question 馃檪

@pearluk I'm a Canadian also married to a Turk and we recently moved to Turkey. Your spouse will sponsor you for a family residence permit. You do that once you're in Turkey. You can enter on a tourist visa and then I recommend applying for the family residence permit as soon as possible.
