Studying in Mexico during the crisis

Cheryl

Hi everyone,

in Mexico or elsewhere, school has inevitably been disturbed by the current pandemic. Studying abroad seems increasingly difficult as some borders remain closed, even to students.

Whether you are a student in Mexico or a parent of a student currently dealing with issues with school or university, we would like to get some feedback from you.

How was the start of the academic year?

Were you able to go to Mexico to study?

Were there any special measures in place to ensure social distancing? If so, what are they?

Were face-to-face courses maintained or replaced by virtual courses?

How did you experience the whole situation, either as a student or as a parent?

Thank you for your contribution!

Have a nice day,

Cheryl

I'm not traveling as a student, but I can tell you what's happening to students here.
It has been difficult for all of the native students here. The study plan appears to be dated and very difficult for students to comply with. They have a system using CDs or DVDs which does not recognize than those are being phased out and also doesn't recognize that many children here have little if any access to smart cell phones let alone computers. Some have to travel to the city center to use a computer.

I have a friend who is a professor of Mexican history who is teaching at the college level virtually, but that is the college level. At that level, people have laptops and internet access.  Most regular students don't have computers.
