Hello... I'm new here and need some advice.

vvazquez

Hello, I came across this site as I was looking for information about moving to Mexico.  My husband is a Mexican Citizen and I am an American citizen, along with our two children (15 and 5 years).  I have been researching places to live in Mexico. If we can find a good fit, jobs, and schools for our kids... we are ready to move over this summer.   I am looking for something affordable, family friendly, safe, and where I will be able to find employment.  I am a Master's level social worker currently working in the states for the school district.  I also have a private therapy practice on the side.  I am bi-lingual as well.

My children are not bi-lingual but have been exposed to the language. So they will need either a bilingual or English speaking school.  We have visited San Miguel de Allende and fell in love with it.  I don't know what the job market is though or possibility of finding employment.  Not too interested in living in the northern Mexican states due to the violence.  I would love to hear others suggestions/experiences of living in Mexico to help assist us in making some decisions.  Gracias!!

If you can obtain a working FM3 as a clinical social worker I think you would be able to start a pratice here since English speaking mental health workers are in demand.
