Best you first visit for information regarding entry into Oz, visa information and applications.
There is a skills list and if your field of expertise is on that list you get preference.

You should look into a student visa and do a course related to psychology in Perth. this will give you Oz qualifications and make it easier to get a job. On this visa you can work part time.

Your boyfriend will have to get a visa before he can work in Australia.聽
