Heading to Uruguay for a Passport Stamp (or visit?)

I recently zipped over to Uruguay to obtain the necessary 90 day stamp on my passport. The travel was easy (ferry to Colonia then bus to Montevideo), the seafood was awesome, people were warm and welcoming. What is there not to love?

I have just come back from a 'visa run' to Colonia. Don't listen to those who say it's "boring" and 'there's nothing to do" they clearly don't know how to relax and take in some culture!

I have always enjoyed trekking over to Colonia.聽 The prices are a bit higher over there than here in Buenos Aires, but the boat ride is pleasant and it is nice to get out from the hustle and bustle of the city for a bit and enjoy some clean air and sidewalks.

I make this trip regularly...You can also check out Caciola, it's another ferry that does day trips to (to Carmelo) Uruguay, leaves from Tigre, it's a bit cheaper.

There's also a new one, I think it's called StarCat or SeaCat - I took it the last time I went to Colonia and it was great (and very cheap!)
