Tips for living in Brazil

vigneshi

Hi,
I am Vignesh from India, planning to move to Brazil in a place called Sao Carlos(I heard it is nearby Sao Paulo). I will be here on an assignment for 2 years, so have got lots of questions on the same.
Can you please guide me ?
-What is the cost of living/average expense for a single person ?
-What about the safety issues in Sao Carlos, is it reliable ?
-I am pure vegetarian and an Indian, what are the chances of getting Indian spices and other items in the general stores nearby Sao Carlos ?
-My company wont be paying for accommodation, so I have to manage myself, what is the range for rental on accommodation for 1 person ?
-I heard that tax is around 27.5% in Brazil,so what are the various options for tax deduction ?
-I heard Sao Carlos is renowned for education and there are good universities around, I am intended to do part time MBA during my stay in Brazil; what are the fee structure and recommended universities ?

Can any of you please advice on my above queries ?
Thanks in advance.

You will find most of the spices and seasonings you will ever need at the Central Market. You won't have to go hungry.

Hi Neelesh,
It is a nice place calm & pleasant without any pollution or traffic
You wont get the feel of anything super sophisticated or posh, but the overall experience will be good staying here.

Regarding to Indian spices and other items, we do get most of them but certainly way costlier than India.

Let me know if you come here.

Best Regards,
Vignesh
