Ola! I鈥檝e been returning to S茫o Paulo since retirement 4 years ago but limited to 180 days. Rest of the year I travel to Ski, Mountain Bike, or visit family in US.

The people of S茫o Paulo are warm, inviting, easy going and curious in a manner I don鈥檛 find elsewhere. Studying the language, while not easy, has really helped with connecting day to day. My neighbor in Moema is calm and away from the hectic tourist areas like in Rio.聽 Weather is less hot and humid than Rio.

The Brazilian government has recently approved my retirement visa application. However,聽 because I already stayed 180 days this year and left and retirement visas must be picked up or processed in Brazil ONLY鈥� I鈥檓 being prevented from returning to Brazil for 6 months. Does anyone know of a possible workaround? Thanks!

Just grab your paperwork, approvals, and head out to the nearest consulate. They will reup your temporary visa.

Or better, if living nearby a Brazilian community, get a hold of a referenceable "Despachante" who can do the end run through Consulates.聽
