I need some information please

Rodrigo Harrison

Hi there!
My name is Rodrigo and I just got married. My wife is American and we are living in Brazil - Sao Paulo. Are there any American community in Sao Paulo? Because she doesn't speak Portuguese yet and I know it's been hard for her. Hope someone can help me. We live in Zona Leste Sao Paulo.

Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Rodrigo,

I just relocated to SP 5 months ago.  There is an "American Society" - americansociety.com.br that she can join.  A group of us (expat) get together once in a week in the Moema / Itaim Bibi area.  And I know there are other expats from other nations get together often.

I can imagine how hard it is for her.  I just went through the whole adjustment process!  Where are you from in State?

Good news! We have quite a few registred american members in the Network of expatriates in Sao Paulo!
I hope that she'll be able to make some nice contacts.

Hey Tim,

I'm moving to Sao Paulo on the 4th of Sept.

I'm from Ohio and went to uni in NC, I'm hoping to learn portuguese when I get there and have a good start with Spanish and my ex was brazilian so I picked up a bit. Feel free to give your wife my email to meet up, go jogging, or have cafe or whatever.

Thank you so much Arllet! :)

Hi Rodrigo,

I live in the Paulista area. Is this her first visit to Brazil?  Is she going to be working? I have been visiting Brazil for the last 10 years.  Visiting is always fun but living here is an entirely different experience.  I was too naive (or lazy you might say)not to get the language down and mentally prepare for the SP city lifestyle.

Pittsburgh is a big city too.  I visited it once long time ago.  She is going to enjoy the fresh fruits here as I remember fruits/veggie in Pittsburgh were pretty bad :)

Let me know if you and your wife want to meet with other ex-pat . I will send you more info. on our next meet.

Zilrellim,

Have a safe trip to S.P.  I just learned that Sept 7th (Tuesday) is a holiday.  And most people will take Monday off and make a 4 day weekend!  Ping me when you arrive/settle in or if you need any help.  Tchau!
