Telecommunications in São Paulo

Yud

Hello dear Members,

Can you please list some of the main Internet Service providers in Sao Paulo? You may also include the cost related to their Internet subscription.

Another issue related to the telecommunication topic, is mobile plans. Can you please share with us:
>With which operator are you subscribed to?
>How are you finding their services?
>What kind of facilities do they offer?

Lastly, what is the best option according to you to make long distance calls in Sao Paulo/Brazil?

Your views/suggestions will be highly valued.

Wish you all a great day & thanks you in advance for your participation.

ISP - there are quite a few

- telefonica
- embratel
- net
- prompt solution

for a 5meg connection it varies from 90 bucks to 160 bucks (brazilian money)

Tim is pretty good if you know a lot of ppl using TIM, you get free calling if you call any TIM users anywhere in brazil.

as for a LD provider, i use inphonex its an american voip company, i pay 19 bucks a month and i get to call 65 countries for free if its a landline and even to cell phones in north america!

hope that helped!

cheers

hi wags

i'm in dubai working in telecom field . i'm thinking to migrate to brazil . would you give some kind of advise about job opportunities and living experience's. thanks

James

Hi ajnabee,

Sorry to tell you that unless you've got some pretty spectacular qualifications in the field of telecommunications you're going to find it almost impossible to find a job in that field here in Brazil, it's swamped with qualified Brazilians already.

Hi there: BR spouse & I moved to BR perm for 2 yrs now. When newly arrived, getting cell phone provider VIVO was no prob. Now, we cannot obtain any bcuz of our CPF. We have no known credit issues since our credit cards are paid directly by the issuing banks. Why are our CPF's are not acceptable for cell service now? Thxs.

Interesting? I would check with the RF, receita.fazenda.gov.br
Do they and PF have the current address?
What provider are you looking into?
