Settling in Curia, Montanita?

We are travelling to Montanita this summer, staying in Curia. As we wanted to experience ocean-side life, we are exploring retirement potential in the region. We would love to hear the聽 experience of others, who have experienced life in this region. Is there a more popular area for Canadian and American expats? All feedback welcome, as we are open to whatever information we can get from people who have experienced life in the area. Thanks

Greetings.聽 I live in a small town north of Montanita and south of Manta.聽 Puerto Lopez.聽 I know Montanita/Olon very well.聽 Dont think you would want to rent anything long term in Montanita unless you enjoy living in party central.聽 Olon can be very expensive.聽 Come up to Puerto Lopez and find a place for a couple hundred a month, and take the local busses any where you want to go, to find a place to live.
