How are black americans treated in Cairo Egypt? by kuhlknits
I am planning to move to Egypt in the fall for a new teaching job. I am concern if being a Black person from the states is an issue. Are Black Americans welcomed in the expat community? Also I need to find a hair salon that caters to black hair.

I find it funny and sad how people are still insisting there is no racism here lol Read More

I have been living here for 5 years. I am a mix of Indian and black. I have experienced racism here. Mostly ignorant comments from kids and adults alike. I use to take the metro every day and hear these comments every day. At first its a bit of a ... Read More

Allow me to introduce myself... :) by snowwhite
Hi, all! I'm a single, American female who loves to travel. I was in Egypt 3 years ago and I loved it there, although I know it's not as glamorous as some might imagine. I have (Egyptian) friends there, and I've thought of moving there. I have owned ...

Hi there, It's a great idea and there is a need for it. Once word gets out about you, you will be fine. I would suggest you do your homework regarding the registration of the business, it's really tricky, especially since you're a foreigner. I am ... Read More

Makeup for dark complexions by Guestposter36
Hello everyone! I will be moving to Egypt in a couple of months and wanted to know if I will find makeup for dark complexions. I've been to Egypt many times and never got a chance to find this out, if anyone knows please let me know! thanks so much ...

Yes, you can find, but the variety is very limited. I would suggest stocking up on your foundation, as you might not find the correct color for your skin tone. I find that the colors here are either too dark or too light. Read More

Any tips from those of you who've been there? Do's and don'ts?

We were planning on only taking the stroller inside the pyramid area. But your idea sounds way better. Is there an extra charge for the car to enter the premises? Read More

A Ladies Meetup by Shaanz
Hi, i would really like to meet with fellow ladies for various activities in the mornings. I'm a mom, so going out at night is not really an option. I was thinking along the lines of a yoga or gym partner/group. Or even just a coffee meetup or ...

I'l look into that group that Sarahrqe mentioned. Otherwise I think meeting for coffee one afternoon could be a start. Let me know what you think :) Read More
