Ebay-like-site in Icleand by bossybadger
Hi, I want to know whether there is an ebay-like-site in iceland for games, books etc. Auction website preferably. But I want it to be Icelandic - so that I don't have to order it from US etc. Thanks in advance

The closest thing I know of is bland.is. It's not an auction site, it's more of a classified ads site like craigslist. It's pretty popular though, so it's worth a look to see if you can find what you want. Read More

In a word, "yes". :) They're pretty famous for it among the other foreigners I know. The last time I was in there, there was only one other customer in the office, and he was already being helped by one of the three employees. Unfortunately, I ... Read More

Hi, I've just been offered a job coaching in Iceland for 200,000 kr /mo. + flat. Is this reasonable for sports/coaching jobs. Also, how much can I expect after taxes? Will this be comfortable for living in Iceland and maybe saving a bit? Oh, and ...

Broadband internet is typically charged not by speed, but by the amount of foreign data you download. For DSL, prices on Vodafone range from about 4000 for a 10 GB cap to about 7500 for 140 GB. Or you can get a much faster fiber optic connection ... Read More

I've found no shortage of talkative Icelanders if you're willing to wait until they're a few beers into the evening. :) But I'm in a similar situation, so if you came all this way so you could hang out with another American, I'm usually around. Read More

Sourcing Accommodation in Iceland? by kit_in_london
Hi Guys, I am a new member on this page. I see a lot of links here for flat shares or student style accommodation, but my question relates to longer term lets for expatriate couples and families. If not using the Classifieds here on º£½ÇÂÒÂ×Blog, how ...

It is a little tougher to find the sort of flat you're looking for (they tend to call them "luxury apartments" here as far as I can tell). Particularly if you're looking for something big enough for a family, the market is pretty thin. That said, ... Read More
