Dollar account in Argentina banks by alwish1

Anyone know if one can open a US dollar account in Argentina banks? If yes, are you allowed to exchange the dollars outside the bank, ie from private money changers?

Jwoddis

Here’s a simpler answer. You can’t open a bank account in Argentina unless you have residency. So it doesn’t matter whether you use remitly or WU or whatever, you can’t transfer into a bank account. Read More

@Dale Mitchell can’t help on the passport side but maybe try to get an international visa someway eg Wise, Revolut. It doesn’t have to be credit, it could be a debit card. if you still have a British bank account that would be easier. Read More

Visa at airport? by arezkiofstow

I am staying 45 days in DR this summer. Ā Can i apply for the more-than-30 day stay visa at the airport or does it have to be done by a consular seevice in the US before arrival? Ā Ā

Jwoddis

For what it’s worth, and this is not the ā€œlegalā€ way, but if you are just coming and going you can do nothing and pay the fine when you leave. Ā I started the visa renewing Leicestershire once and it seemed onerous and no ... Read More
