Tailor to fix a suitcoat by swendig
Hi all, I am looking for a tailor that will repair/take in an existing suitcoat. I can find tons of people who want to sell me a new suit, but I just need someone to tailor my old one. Thanks much!!!

Chi Chi tailors did a really great job of altering my clothing. They are certainly not the least expensive - but some of the work I had done was already done once before by a "cheaper" tailor. But they were very professional, very quick ... Read More

Vietnamese Taxes: To file or not to file by swendig
Hi all. I was paid by three different schools in 2014, all of whom collected taxes on my behalf. All of them are telling me that I need to collect the PIT receipts and then go to the local tax office to file (i.e. get taken for more money...). ...

I have a PIT invoice from all 3 schools, so I know the taxes were paid. The only question is if I need to do more than hold on to those invoices? Read More

Banking - depositing US dollars in VN bank by swendig
Hi all. I own a business in Cambodia where I earn US dollars. I used to be able to bring that money here and deposit it in my Vietnamese bank, but because of new money laundering regulations, they no longer allow me to just bring the money in. ...

No Citi in Cambo. In fact, none of the Cambo banks are connected to any banks outside of the country. Even if you have an ANZ account here and in Cambo, you cannot transfer money between the two. Crazy. As for my current situation, I already ... Read More

I want the money here in case I want to use it (this is my home). Also, I get decent interest at VN banks and Cambodian banks pay virtually none. Swift transfer costs around 3%, so I had been saving that money by just hand-carrying the money over. ... Read More

Larger Motorbike Rental by theho84
Does anyone know you can rent larger motorbikes of 250 cc and up in Ho Chi Minh. Or any places that would rent out enduro bikes. In Hanoi it fairly simple to rent one in the old quarter. In Saigon, it seems fairly impossible.

Did anyone ever sort out a place to rent larger motos? I'd love to rent a 250-500cc bike for longer weekend trips to Nha Trang or the like (my Super Dream isn't likely to make that trip, unfortunately). Cheers! Read More
