here the electricity supply is 230 V and the plugs is depend on your place or house for example my home accept American plugs, but you can find converts easily in the market.

The standard socket is the 2 - Pin Euro type.

Hold on there cowboy! It's not so much the voltage as the frequency you need to worry about if you're bringing over stuff from the US.
I know of one person who plugged in their Wii without using a transformer. Let's just say they now own a Wii Unfit.

Voltages fluctuate depending on where you live, so a couple of voltage regulators should be used to protect TVs, computers etc.

We brought a Percor elliptical trainer with us in our shipment.  I researched it to find out what the wattage/hz ws and made sure to buy a voltage regulator/transformer since it is made for Amrican market it has 110.  We assembled it and saw that the maker says not to use it with a trnsformer.  Apparantly there is a converter inside the maching that steps up the 110 to 220.  I haven't used it having sent a message to the maker (I had asked them about it in the states and nobody ever said anything about the note in the assembly manual).

Anybody with electrical know-how with insight?  Could I chance it with the regulator/transformer?

Wht I do know, from the manual is:

120VAC, 50/60Hz
1.7 Amps
140 Watts

I was told (by the salesman of course who wanted to sell it, so perhaps I should have asked more) that a transformer would be fine as long as tthe HZ and watts were correct.

Although the manual states thet "no adaptor should be used"....which is a fairly standard disclaimer, the salesman is correct, your step-up transformer will be ok so long as it outputs 50/60Hz.

I have a 120v US made power drill, which works fine with a UK made transformer....

Yes, we run several pieces of equipment on regulator/transformers.  Our stereo runs througha transformer, and our 220 TV we have through a regulator to protect it from ebb/surges.  And my computer (220V) is on a regulator.  My husband has a 110 drill he uses with a big 2000watt transformer.  My sewing machine too is on a trnsformer/regulator.

Sandman....I will be travelling to Tripoli.  I have a US HP Laptop....US 110...60Hgz....the computer has a bulit in conversion box....does HP make a cable with 2 PIN Euro that will work in the outlets in Tripoli and plug into my computer conversion box?
