I want to apply for a retire non citizen residence permit, and I saw that I need a A Morality Certificate / Certificate of good character / Police clearance and聽 I don t what it mean because in my country Romania we have just Criminal Record like clearence paper for the authority.

Hello,

The Certificate of Character in Mauritius is a document issued by the 'Director of Public Prosecutions' which attest whether someone has been convicted for a criminal activity (misdemeanor, felony, etc) and has been subjected to a fine or jail sentence,
It remains valid for a definite period of time.

In other countries, it goes by different names but the main principle remains the same. I did some research and looks like in Romania, it is called a 'Police Clearance Certificate'.
