Don't you think it is a little too late to ask this question? So, what you think you want to do if really safety is an issue during election? Can you be sure that safety is not an issue, outside of Malaysia?

A Chinese Malaysian businessman I know bought three bullet proof jackets.

I guess he is alarmed! I suspect storm in a teacup. It is irresponsible of some to build rumour about potential problems. prob will all go very peacefully. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

joyce, i have no idea what ur referring to :-) it wud b too late if the elections were done and barry asked the question. bullet proof jackets? really. paranoia i wonder. i just plan on staying at home :-) play it safe.

All taxi drivers carry weapons under their seats. Many in Chinatown are druggies. I prefer to avoid taxis in Malaysia had too many problems with them!

Thanks for the advice from most of you (not mentioning any names - author of Ulysees). I should probably worry more about getting a KL Taxi in future than about any aftermath from the Elections. Do bullet proof vests only come in one colour, or is there a choice?

Sorry I was occupied & could not get back any earlier.

I mean to say - no matter when, nobody is safe be it inside or outside of Malaysia. It does not take election to kill people. For instance, there are so many dying out of road accident, everyday! If we want to be safer, then you and I not supposed to drive. But is it possible?

Immaterial if the question is asked before or after election, there is nothing can be done, except facing the reality. May be some can pack up and leave the country to skip election, but how sure are they that the journey and the next place is safer? Unless you tell me that they made separate agreement with God! Lol

But don't get me wrong. It is not that I welcome riots and deaths. I, like most other Malaysians, will give up anything just to maintain some peace in here. It will affect my business, you know?

But, think of it, it doesn't really matter. Someday we all have to pack up and go - forever!
