How do I stop a future marriage ?

Doc4Marines

How do I stop a fraudulent future marriage between a male US citizen and a female Vietnamese person?ย

I happen to know the US male citizen, and he is committing fraud against the US court system and against this woman.

The man is a convicted felon with 2 marriages under his belt.ย  He has served his time, but he is using this woman to get his parole terminated.

At the very least, she should have all the information before she marries this man.

If they are getting married in the United States then you notify ICE, and be prepared to provide reasonable evidence, not just your personal opinion and/or anger & indignation.

That solution is best discussed in the USA forum.

if you are talking about a sham marriage being entered into HERE in Vietnam, then give us a little more detail as to the general location and situation.

But if it's happening here in Vietnam and you are not here in Vietnam, then there's next to nothing you can do about it.

If you ARE here and you plan to report it, remember that the laws against libel here are very, very strict and you can even be prosecuted in spite of the fact you may be telling the truth.

Because if you make that accusation here you are making it against a Vietnamese citizen, and if your public accusation is seen to injure her standing and reputation, then you can indeed be prosecuted.

I can tell you are upset about this, and you may very well be right, but I've seen all kinds get married and end up having it work for them.

So I'm not going to jump on the rage train with you.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

USCIC has a fraud prevention department and normal everyday people can contact them. You can just google USCIS report fraud. Agree with OB though that you better know for sure. Personally dont you think it wiser to contact the woman anonymously first before getting the government involved? IDK maybe thats more risky but if your concern is her then I think she has a right to know before the government does.

..."fraudulent marriage"...? What is the "fraud" which you allege is being committed? That is a very serious accusation to make. What is it that you feel is a legal impediment to their marrying?

I happen to know the US male citizen...

Yes, we know. He is your ex-boyfriend, who you feel hurt by.

...and he is committing fraud against the US court system and against this woman.

How is this a "fraud against the US court system"? Also, how do you know that he has not been truthful and open with his future wife? I suggest that you do not know.

The man is a convicted felon with 2 marriages under his belt. He has served his time...

His being twice divorced and his having two prior convictions (having "served his time") do not, as such, constitute fraud.

...but he is using this woman to get his parole terminated.

I'm not familiar with the American judicial/parole system, but if marriage makes termination of a person's parole status possible, then how is this evidence of fraud?

Again, how do you know his fiancee isn't aware of her future husband's history? You don't.

Your post does not indicate any sort of altruistic intentions, rather it appears that you are bitter and wish to remain a factor in your ex-boyfriends life.

I asked admin to remove your (multiple) posts from our Sticky thread "VIETNAMESE FAMILY LAW ACT", as well as from the dormant thread (last post 6 years ago) "Marriage in Vietnam, financial implications" as neither of your posts were relevant to the topics therein.

For reference, this is what you wrote in the "Marriage in Vietnam, financial implications" thread.

"My ex-boyfriend is going to marry a Vietnamese woman.ย  I just found out through a court website that has his criminal record. He is using his engagement to have his parole terminated.

Before I made this discovery, he was trying to weasel back into my life.

It still hurts because he lied, and that also means I never meant anything to him, as he didn't choose me.ย  I don't know who she is, but I wish I could tell her the game he is playing, but maybe she is playing him." (emphasis mine)

You're tracking him "...through a court website that has his criminal record"? Wow, just, wow.

My advice to you is to let it go.

By continuing on your current mission all you will do is add credence to the old adage...

Good luck.
