Ouch! Just hurt myself laughing.

An apartment? One bedroom? For 150-250 USD! Get real.

Older parts of the city are where you find cheaper apartments and large rooms go for USD$250 there.

A real estate agent wouldn't be interested. Check in Craigs List VietNam.

You are very very funny dude........... :)

Just found a place in An Loc for 300 USD, so why is this so funny? Sure there is also something for 200-250 USD in An Khanh, Tran Nao or other areas in An Phu. An Phu is a big area and of course there are also old buildings here.

Will keep looking...

You after a room or apartment?

Which are is An Loc near in An Phu?
An Khanh is certainly cheaper than Thao Dien but think you'll struggle to get something for what your asking.

Small apartment or a room with own entrance and toilet. Helping an intern arriving this week. Working in Binh Duong so would be nice with a place in An Phu.

Nothing fancy. VN standard is ok. His budget is 200-250 USD.

An Loc is just behind Metro, the green one.

ah yes the building... not the area :) sorry confused myself.

I live in An Khanh and work in Binh Duong. I'll ask around and let you know if I hear of something.

Th Cong An determine if Foreigners can stay anywhere - they occasionally overlook things for pension donations.

This is true. Foreigners aren't typically allowed to live in what would be considered "local" areas for "local" costs. That's why you have received responses implying that your friend's budget of $200-250 may be too low. You may indeed find a place, only to find out later that your friend is not welcome there.

Several years ago, I knew a foreign guy who was married to a Vietnamese, spoke Vietnamese fluently, and lived in a local area with her for several months - until the authorities found out about it. He was asked to move...
