why is it difficult for foriegner to assimilate into VN culture

MarkinNam

good call on both points witty 12 a lot of time and effort is being put in to criticizing the people   for thier apathy, vn time is a big player there like in spain or mexico having siestas from 11 till 1;30pm if we focus on the negative in a foriegn land our enjoyment of it is going to become skewed and unpleasant. I suffer with anxiety and it has affected my life more than i would like, recently I went for councilling and CBT this has let me become more focused on others situations and needs rather than my own, which , by comparison, were way underrated. Not wishing to criticize others or disrespect the amount of information put on the forum, but ther is a lot of time spent waiting for the next installment of what can only be called trivia and some rather nasty attacks on others. In some cases, we ( me included) have jumped to conclusions about a newby's comments, only to go back and see it with fresh eyes. My first trip to VN I made the decision for a full imersion baptism of culture, I'm glad I did it opened my eyes to the generosity and kindness of the people, sure they like thier VND but who doesn't, so in conclusion , get out in the sunshine, spend time with a poor person ( even buy them lunch), get excited, not angry
