ChristelP

Hi guys a question so with a single permit type A card is it possible to get a personal short term loan in Belgium really nothing serious like 1500 that will be payed back in a month from somewhere? Because most credit unions say they cant with a Type A card mime expires in 2027 end of year

Ing automatically defines the old clients no matter what type of card you have.

Today was saying in application 8 to 13 percent interest rate up to 24 months for 10k.

It is difficult to get a loan with an A card as you don't have permanent residency. If you are laid off with an A card you have three months to find a new job or you are forced to leave. This is too risky for banks.

This isn't to say it is impossible to get a loan with an A card, but unless you have some way of guaranteeing repayment, banks will be reluctant to lend to you. For instance, if you have a large downpayment (e.g., 40-50%) a bank may give you a home loan, but you also have to be close to the 5 year period when you can request permanent residency. ING will not do this, but KBC will.

it is next to impossible to get a loan with an A card; you cannot get a credit card on an A card, so a loan is borderline impossible. The best you can get is the deferred debit credit card, which you have to pay off every month, and unlike a normal credit card, you cannot carry the balance forward and pay at your convenience.
