Hello,

I know there are several existing topics on this subject before, however I wanted to get some up to date information as well.

Me and my spouse are based in Belgium since 2020 with Single Permit. My spouses status is dependent to me as we came with family reunification. I have an exciting job opportunity which I know will trigger new Single Permit Application from the new employer. I see it takes some time for Single Permit Applications however I was wondering if there is any chance that it could be shorter as we are already here and already got one & renewal in the last 4 years?

I read currently new applications goes up to 4 months. My notice period with the company is 2 months. I don't want to tell my current company immediately as I don't want to have any gap in my employment. Should I be submitting my official resignation for new employer to apply for Single Permit?

Would my spouse's status or employment impacted during my employer transfer period due to "dependent' status?

I hope you are having a good day.

I'm currently in the process of changing employer, my future employer applied for a new single work permit for me and it is still in the waiting process, I am currently still working with my current company and didn't resign as I'm waiting for the authorities to issue my WP for the future employer. so I believe you can wait until you get the WP and residence permit, and then you can resign (maybe some other member could confirm that).

regarding your second question about your spouse, I don't know anything.

I was wondering if the process of renewal by the new employer is completed already? If completed already how long did it take? Or if not completed how long has it been so far? Do you know if the process is changing based on location of your residency or location of the employer (flanders vs brussels)?

Regarding keeping your resignation on hold, have you communicated and not give the official resignation or kept it for yourself totally?
