I got my shot in Burgas in the cities large hospital just on the spot, on Wednesday, without  previous registration.
You have to check actual local infos for this opportunity, as it might be stopped, in case of lack of vaccine.

dying of mad cow disease must be devastating

I'd imagine the cows were not happy about it. Boom, boom. :-)

However, I think the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is satisfied that there is no connection between any Covid vaccines and mad cow disease.

Besides, Mad Cow Disease (BSE) is a cow ailment. Us humans get CJD. But fortunately, it's rare (less than 2 in a million, I think). So you can sleep easy. :-)
