Palm trees

Kalimera all

I have a church built right behind my property and some **** has planted a palm tree right against my wall, so in effect when roots sprout enough they will lift or damage my wall plus all my plants I have growing around it.

Am thinking of purchasing some chemical to pour on it (covertly) before it gets to the critical stage - prevention is better than cure so I hear......

I have spoken to someone in the church about it but whether they will address the issue is anyone's guess🤔

Thanks, Cay

When I had a problem tree, I found that a lot of vinegar got rid of the issue.

My understanding of similar things in the UK is as the wall was there first, the owner of the tree would be responsible for remedying any damage to the wall.  If the tree was there before the wall was built, the onus would be on the wall owner to ensure that the foundations were deep enough not to be damaged by the tree roots.  I'm not sure if it is the same there but if may be worth finding out although it's not really a desirable route to pursue.

Wouldn't they need planning permission from the municipality?
