I actually got a cat yesterday that needed rehoming.

The person I dealt with was a woman called Antonella Bartolo and she sent me emails with pictures of the cats etc.

She can be reached on email:

All the Cats have been neutered or spayed and are of various ages.

Just mention my name to her

Anyhow, even it's better to adopt than buy, I'm afraid what happens to the kittens that cannot be sold ...

Antonella is one of the people who uses the facebook links I gave, and is trustworthy :-)

If you adopt you are helping to solve the problem, if you buy you are just encouraging people to breed more.

and if you get one of the rescue cats that havent been neutered its usually free to have them do ot for you - we did this but we gave a donation for the centre and towards the neutering op - my opinion this is the best way to get a cat..and ours is an absolute joy.....

I got my cat through Antonella, haven't looked back.

The guy who dropped her off said just please don't take her unless you're sure you'll take her with you if you leave Malta.

Our cat is still with us after moving two countries and halfway around the world.

Came too Malta last year and have adopted 3 cats, a female called whisky that was hit by a car near my aunts house, and is the most loving furry animal ive ever known. (she's all recoverd now)
Taz my little black and white crazy kitty i adopted through a contact i met on Facebook, her name was Marilyn and she had him neutered for me before i got him,
And my latest addition is Mojo a persian i was asked to take on by a work colleague as her next door neighbour was keeping him in the courtyard and not taking care of him.
Plenty of Cats and Dogs that need a loving home and a chance, wish ya the best of luck.

totally agree - lots of loving cats out there - and they DO have character.
