Colleague's visa

Allons-y

My colleague arrived on the 9th of October with a 30-day business visa from the United States.  He is awaiting his iqama and wants to leave the country for the Hajj, but he is now thinking that he is overextending his stay as of Monday.  I recall reading that the counting of days can be tricky and many people overstay their visas, so I am now wondering if he has already overstayed his visa based on the Islamic calendar.

Based on what I wrote, can anyone help or offer when he has to leave to not overextend his stay?

Thanks in advance.

He has 30days? The islamic calendar is only different in months..
He would need to leave on or before the 8th.

I am certain there is a difference in the days, too, as well as the months (I know this because I screwed up on a dr's appt!).

Yes, there is certainly a difference in the days cos an Islamic Hijri month can only be 29 or 30 days and you have to start counting from the day he arrived.

But 30 days is 30 days regardless of how long the month is or am I missing something.

musicman

yep it is, depends on whether you count in days or months

Allons-y - why doesn't your colleague contact his visa agent who got the visa for him.  They will know and they will deal with the renewal (which will involve leaving the Country for re-entry).  I would have thought Hajj will start early for your colleague as it would appear however you wish to count the month, he will have exceed before the end of this week!

Thanks for your feedback, everyone! I hope you all have an excellent Saturday.
