Moving to Abu Dhabi

Ivan_SRB

Hi members ,

I just got an offer for a job in Abu Dhabi with a salary of 40K AED+school fees (35K per year) . Is this salary OK for a family of 4 (two kids) ? Can I do some money saving with that salary ?

Thanx

@Ivan_SRB my take on it ... absolutely not enough if you are the only income in the family, but then again, it will very much depend on your life style and where + in what condition you wish to leave. i mean a car is already the price of your annual income ... just my view though, don't let it stop you however, re-negotiate and show them you need more, movement is an opportunity in itself !!!

@ale1duf Thank you for your comment... I 'm in a big dilemma right now.

just say yes but for more money backing up your ask with cost of leaving study, what business is this in ?

I'm an petroleum engineer , and the position is at ADNOC. However, i'm not planning to move my whole family without being able to save some money every month, it is just pointless.

Hello, and congrats on your offer of employment. A family of four may survive in Abu Dhabi on 40,000 AED per month plus 35,000 AED in school fees each year. Generally, total living expense is approximately 14,000 – 21,000 AED/month for housing, internet, groceries, transportation, and extra(leisure). You will have a good financial buffer if you manage your lifestyle well.
