Health Clubs or Gyms in Lae

AndrewB

Are there any gyms or clubs that do classes in Lae. I like weights etc and my wife enjoys pump and boxing classes, anything on offer?

We've got group exercise classes (circuit in the mornings, aerobics in the evenings) across from the Stadium.  It's 99% women but men are welcome!  There's a gym in there with weights, etc., but most of the other equipment is broken.  k10 per visit or a fee to join for the year (k400? I think).  There's also a gym at the Lae Inter hotel, but it's in very sad condition.  I have heard that the Melo gym has a bit better equipment, but I haven't been there personally.  Many expats have their own gym equipment if they're serious.  Others just make do with group running (HASH) or other small training groups (for specific training, ie, Kokoda prep).  There's also basketball and touch footy around town.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. The particular job didn't happen but who knows for the future.

Thanks again for taking the time.
