Beach Trike

alan279

@kmitch0077

Thanks!

alan279

I installed mirrors on my trike so I can see the speedier bicyclists overtaking me on the bike path (I'm just slow).

I bought front and rear lights so I can get home after sunset on the bay. LEDs are amazing!

My bike mechanic installed a new brake lever today that actuates both rear wheels (relacing the individual left and right brake levers that made no sense to me). And I now have a parking brake! Necessary for trikes. Who knew?

I bought a pressure washer pistol. Battery powered, with a 5 meter hose with a filter that I drop into a 3 gallon bucket to wash the trike.

I have an old plastic tarp to cover the trike until I find a proper cover for it

And I need to sort out which lubricants to keep the sea air at bay.

Whew! More work than I imagined. But low tide is at 8am tomorrow and I plan to go for a long ride on the beach on my trike. 😀

@roddiesho

I too had never heard the term "beach trike" until now. I too would prefer walking

alan279

Low tide, new moon. Easy pedaling south on the beach, going north was a slog against the wind.

roddiesho

@alan279 Sounds Good, just don`t go crazy when you take the next turn and see that HUGE advertising Billboard on the shoulder.

Roddie back from the rock 🕵

Bike path close to the beach. Mostly grade separated from the freeway.

And I discovered a new breakfast place! 😀

alan279

@rraypo

If only I could walk ten miles on the beach as I once did. 😕

alan279

I triked three miles south into the center of the new beachburbs in Ilhéus.
