Yesterday pulled into the petrol station to top up the old Mobylette & here was this guy filling up a clear plastic bag with petrol. Not a heavy duty clear plastic bag mind just run of the mill one you get at the market for vegetables etc & he got about 2 ltrs on petrol in it. Tied a knot in it & hung it between his legs on the carry hooks of his Air Blade  & off he went, not a care in the world. Sort of thing you see on You Tube compilation with 100k hits. Wish I got a video of it!

I saw a similar thing at the  Cafe 69 bia hoi on Bach Dang, Nha Trang.
2 x 1 litre plastic milk bottles were filled with draft beer then poured into a single layer plastic bag.
Paid the money, hung it on the motorbike handlebar and away.
Very innovative.

A bike driver with 3 pillion riders is commonly sighted throughout but a bike driver with 5 butchered pigs stacked on top of each other and trust the power of hand for grip while blood dripping along the road... welcome to Vietnam

Ladies painting their toenails on their way to work. While riding their motorbikes. And talking on the phone. Impresses me every time.

In a reputable shopping center.

1) Cream ( not sure edible or not ) used as decoration ( to shape an artificial cake using plywood ) being scoop up and straight into the mouth.

2) Loose dried foods meant to be sold and with no "trying or tasting" sign, get licked and nibbled before placing back to where it pick up from.

3) Flipper, purchase at least 40 baguettes, pick and placed onto commonly used shopping cart, nicely stacked, paid while ushering to a waiting bike, transfer over to a super oily carton boxes and without any plastic sheet covering the top, driving off as is. Was wondering can the baguettes be wash prior to consumption?

And the best part:
Fly practicing back stroke inside Bun Dau sauce, merely scoop up the fly, dip the Bun inside the sauce and start munching. Hey hey... natural antibiotic is in the process.

My parents worked in India for 31 years, 1939 - 1970. Their tale:

First year, fly in soup: throw out the whole bowl of soup.
Second year, fly in soup: take spoon, lift fly and a spoonful of soup out, discard, using clean spoon, eat soup.
Third year, fly in soup; pick fly out with fingertips, eat soup.
Fourth year, fly in soup: eat fly, say, "Just extra protein."
Fifth year, go looking for flies to put in soup.

They lived near the ocean on the west coast of India, <100 miles north of Bombay, now called Mumbai. During WWII they ate turtle eggs sold by villagers who gathered them on the beaches.

Yup... truly respect such folks. Likewise if for me... I think I will crack the toilet bowl...

Cheers.
