Good Morning everyone,

I'm Giulia and I moved in Porto for work reasons.

On 06/01 I've applied for Niss online, but I still not have it. (I need it to fulfill the contract). Does anyone had the same problem?

I've called and it seems that the office has not the control of it.

Any suggestions?

Hi Giulia,

Generally, it takes from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to issue a NISS. Perhaps it would be better to go to a citizens' shop (loja do cidad茫o) and try to find out in person.

After the online request, you will receive an e-mail confirming the creation of the NISS and instructions on how to collect the NISS in person at the Social Security offices. Do you have a filter on your email, see if any emails have been excluded improperly to recycle bin,...

Go to one of the Social Security offices in Porto, don't waste your time online.

That's what I've done and I remember I got it the same day (I think).

same thing, did the beautiful form online saying wow for once something modern and efficient!鈥�.. well that was in November鈥� going only today end if January because I insisted that they couldnt get their social security money due before 31st jan, and oh what a surprise I get an appointment to fix that right away鈥�. Have you tried the national hotline?
